Dr Joanne Zamani appointed CRN Kent, Surrey and Sussex Chief Operating Officer

Clinical Research Network Kent, Surrey and Sussex (CRN KSS) Executive is pleased to announce that Dr Joanne Zamani has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer. Joanne will be joining CRN KSS from Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust where she is currently Deputy Director for Research & Development (R&D).
Joanne received her PhD from the University of Brighton, Clinical Research Centre for Health Professions in 2008 and has worked in NHS R&D Senior Management since 2009 when she joined Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as R&D Manager. In 2014, Joanne became Deputy Director of R&D at the newly formed Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. The new trust brought together Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Before working in the NHS, Joanne was a Senior Research Fellow and Head of Postgraduate Education at the British School of Osteopathy (now the University College of Osteopathy, London).
On her appointment, Joanne said: “I am looking forward to taking up my new role and working with colleagues from across the region to give patients and members of the public the opportunity to take part in high-quality research.”
Professor Geeta Menon and Dr Mark Hill, CRN KSS Clinical Directors said: “As an Executive team we are delighted Joanne is joining CRN KSS and we are looking forward to working closely with her to build on the successes achieved by the network and research community over the last few years.”
Joanne will take up her post in August.
