Nominations are now open for the Greater Manchester Health and Care Research Awards 2022, sponsored by Clinerion.
NIHR Clinical Research Network Greater Manchester is delighted to announce that the awards will return for the first time since 2019 following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The awards, first held in 2013, are designed to recognise and celebrate research delivery achievements made during the last year in Greater Manchester, East Cheshire and East Lancashire.
Please note, the nomination window and ceremony has been moved forward in the calendar compared to previous years. The nomination window begins on Tuesday 21 June 2022 and is open for six weeks until midnight on Monday 1 August 2022.
In another change from previous years, the award ceremony takes place, face-to-face, inside the Etihad Stadium, Manchester, on the evening of Thursday 29 September 2022.
In total, there are 11 categories to acknowledge achievements made by individuals and teams in research delivery. Members of the local research community are invited to nominate individuals or teams they believe deserve recognition.
Thank you to our sponsors
This year’s awards are in association with our headline sponsor Clinerion, a commercial partner which provides real world data solutions. Clinerion is also sponsor of our Transforming Research Delivery category.
Two other awards have also been kindly sponsored by other valued partners of CRN Greater Manchester. Our award for Outstanding Achievement by a Team has been sponsored by global pharmaceutical contract research organisation PPD, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, and our award for Inclusive Involvement Excellence has been sponsored by global clinical research organisation and biopharmaceutical services company Parexel.
Sarah Fallon, CRN Greater Manchester Chief Operating Officer, said:
“We are delighted to launch this year’s awards which promise to be particularly special following two years in which they couldn’t go ahead. Our research community has worked tremendously hard and we are looking forward to coming together to celebrate local successes and to say ‘thank you’.
“You will notice we have altered the name of the awards slightly to reflect the NIHR’s new name and to emphasise our commitment to supporting research across health and care settings. We are really keen to see nominations from across this broad spectrum.
“We are extremely grateful to our sponsors whose support will help ensure the success of what’s sure to be a special evening on 29 September.”
