Two Hampshire consultants commended for outstanding leadership in research

Two NHS doctors from Hampshire have been commended by the The National Institute for Health Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN) and Royal College of Physicians (RCP) for their outstanding leadership in research.
Dr Hermione Price, Consultant Diabetologist from the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust (SHFT) and Dr Richard Balasubramaniam, Consultant Cardiologist from University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) will be presented their awards at a special ceremony in London on Wednesday 20 October.
Within the nomination criteria, applicants were asked to outline their contribution to the delivery of NIHR research studies, with a particular focus on clinical leadership, as well as the engagement with patients to share new opportunities for participating in clinical research.
Professor Ramesh Arasaradnam, Royal College of Physicians Academic Vice President, said:
“It’s been a real privilege to witness the high level of research set by my colleagues and RCP is proud to be supporting them. Truly it’s a testament of how to embed research within clinical practice. Many congratulations.”
