A talk about NIHR-supported research into endometriosis is now available to watch online.
Endometriosis is a common condition where tissue similar to the womb’s lining grows in the ovaries and fallopian tubes.
It can take eight to 12 years for proper diagnosis as few tests exist to distinguish it from other potential causes.
University of Oxford Professor Christian Becker explains how researchers are analysing blood, saliva, urine and tissue samples to better understand the condition and develop more effective tests.
The talk was part of the IF Oxford: The Oxford Science and Ideas Festival, held in October.
