Local programmes of research
These are research programmes set up in the West Midlands Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN).
ACROSS
Our Delivery Support Team (DST) consists of various disciplines which allows us to offer a wide variety of support for delivery organisations. You can access this support via the ACROSS site.
Learning Disabilities Network
The aim of this initiative is to improve the health and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities. We invite organisations and services for people with learning disabilities to sign up to hear more about high quality research. We will share information about opportunities for people to be involved with research.

Schools Research Network
The West Midlands Schools Research Network is an initiative with schools across the region.
Mental and physical health problems among children and young people are on the rise and therefore we have developed the Schools Research Network. We will be able to influence, be part of, and explore together health and care research in school settings.
Prisons Research Network
The West Midlands Prison Research Network is a programme between prisons across the region.
Mental and physical health problems among prisoners have been well reported. You can be part of UK-wide research studies, focusing on the health and wellbeing of prisoners and young offenders.
School children can learn about and be part of all types of research, with a focus on the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
Midlands Health Alliance
The Midlands Health Alliance's vision is to work together to improve the quality and quantity of clinical biomedical research in the Midlands. By working together they will develop:
- a common strategy for maximising the impact of our research streams
- standardised tools and approaches to clinical patient recruitment and study setup
- a clear infrastructure for signposting our capabilities to industry
